Celebrating Partnerships
“With State and local governments, federally-recognized tribes, the private sector and civil society, along with our international partners, we are taking action to provide current and future generations with a healthier environment and stronger economy.”
This month EPA’s 50th Anniversary focus is our long history of effective partnerships, with a particular emphasis on tribal and international partnerships.
Our tribal partnerships have enabled us to strengthen environmental and public health protection in Indian country. Through this collaboration with tribal governments, we seek to improve water and air quality, safely manage chemicals, and provide guidance on waste management in Indian country.
Internationally, EPA works closely with Canada and Mexico in North America, as well as key countries around the world, including Brazil, China, Israel, and several European countries. Our partnerships include work to reduce marine litter through cooperation with developing countries and through international fora such as the G7 and G20; global efforts to reduce health threats from neurotoxic chemicals such as lead and mercury; and shared work with our allies to champion clean air and water.
