Air Emissions Modeling

2017 Emissions Modeling Platform

The 2017 Emissions Modeling Platform is based on the 2017 National Emissions Inventory released in the spring of 2020.  It was created as part of a product for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to produce derived estimates of air quality for 2017 using the Bayesian Space-time Downscaling Fusion Model (Downscaler). The modeling platform contains base year emissions inventories for 2017, spatial surrogates, and other ancillary files. This platform does not contain projection years. The supporting documentation is a chapter taken from the larger 2017 Derived Estimates from the Bayesian Space-time Downscaling Fusion Model annual report and is linked below along with the document's Appendix B, a spreadsheet containing emissions totals by sector.  Note that a substantial update to the airport emissions inventory as compared to the spring 2020 version of the NEI is available in the 2017emissions subdirectory of the FTP site. A link to the CMAS data warehouse location for the 2017 platform is linked below.
