Clean Air Markets

Summary Data

EPA’s Clean Air Markets Division (CAMD) systematically collects emissions data for the Acid Rain Program, Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR), CSAPR Update, and the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS). Transparency and data availability are a hallmark of these programs, and a cornerstone of their success. CAMD provides an array of reports, resources, and tools, to access and understand these data and environmental results of emission reductions at varying levels of detail.

Resources

Tools

  • Power Sector Programs Progress Report:  This report provides an overview of the progress of the Clean Air Markets Programs and the combined effects of these programs. Those effects include trends in power sector emissions of SO2, NOX,  and mercury, as well as data on ozone and fine particles (PM2.5), air quality, atmospheric deposition of sulfur and nitrogen, and ecological response to emissions reductions.
  • Power Plant Emission Trends: a summary overview of emission trends in the power sector since 1990.
  • Facility Level Comparisons: analytic summaries including quarterly, ozone season, and annual data comparing emissions, emission rates, and heat input from power plants between the current and previous year; long term trends of emissions and emission rates from power plants; coal-fired power plant characteristics; and changes in control technologies at coal-fired units.
  • Power Plant Data Viewer: a tool that allows you to display emissions from power plants across the U.S. at multiple levels.
