The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final rule (PDF) (6 pp, 341 K, published September 20, 2019) to relax the federal volatility (RVP) standard applicable to gasoline supplied to the 13 counties of the Atlanta Area (Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding, and Rockdale) from 7.8 pounds per square inch (psi) to 9.0 psi during the summer ozone season. The first relaxed RVP compliance date is June 1, 2020.
