The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a direct final rule on August 17, 2015 (80 FR 49164) to to relax the federal volatility (RVP) standard applicable to gasoline supplied to Mecklenburg and Gaston counties, North Carolina from 7.8 pounds per square inch (psi) to 9.0 psi during the summer ozone season. The direct final rule is effective as of October 16, 2015.
