Estuary Data Mapper (EDM) Basics

If you’re new to EDM, the following videos will quickly illustrate for you how to:

Download and Install EDM

The following video walks you through the steps for downloading and installing EDM. The operating system in the video is Windows XP.

Note: The "Download and Install" video refers to the EDM.bat file, which had been used in previous EDM versions to start the application. Newer EDM versions replace the EDM.bat file with the EstuaryDataMapper.exe file. Refer to the download and install instructions on this site for more information.

View Maps and Map Elements

The following video illustrates how to use EDM's Controller window to view data elements, such as map or estuary boundary lines, in the Map window, and how to zoom in and out of a map.

Select, Retrieve, and View Data

The following video illustrates how to select the data products you want to view, displaying variables for data products, using the Play and Timestep controls for playback, and using the mouse and Map title bar to gain more insight into the data.

Save Data

This video briefly explains how to save retrieved data in multiple formats from the Save Data tab and how to check for application updates from the Done tab.
