What Are Biopesticides

Biopesticides are certain types of pesticides derived from such natural materials as animals, plants, bacteria, and certain minerals. For example, canola oil and baking soda have pesticidal applications and are considered biopesticides. Biopesticides fall into three major classifications: Biochemical, Microbial, and Plant-Incorporated Protectants (PIPs).

Pre-Submission Meeting

Before assembling an application for product registration or an amendment to a product registration, an applicant or registrant should first consider scheduling a pre-submission meeting. The pre-submission meeting provides an opportunity to discuss and confirm the data and labeling requirements that apply to that application. To schedule a meeting, please email BPPDQuestions@epa.gov.
