Methyl Bromide Alternative

A methyl bromide alternative is a conventional pesticide use that represents a significant alternative to pesticidal uses of the fumigant, methyl bromide.

Methyl bromide is an odorless, colorless gas that has been used as an agricultural soil and structural fumigant to control a wide variety of pests. However, because methyl bromide depletes the stratospheric ozone layer and is classified as a Class I ozone-depleting substance, the amount of methyl bromide produced and imported in the U.S. is being phased out.
