PRN 96-8: Toxicologically Significant Levels of Pesticide Active Ingredients

This notice sets out EPA's interpretation of the term "toxicologically significant" as it applies to contaminants in pesticide products that are also pesticide active ingredients. This notice provides risk-based concentration levels of such contaminants that will generally be considered toxicologically significant. These concentrations are defined according to the type of pesticide that is contaminated and the pesticide category of the contaminant.

As provided by regulation, registrants must report to EPA contamination exceeding toxicologically significant levels. This notice sets out procedures for reporting such contamination.

The notice also lists contamination scenarios that are excluded from this notice.
