Postponement of March 18 EtO meeting in Añasco, Puerto Rico

EPA had planned a March 18, 2020 open house and public meeting – in coordination with the Puerto Rico and Añasco governments -- about EPA’s work to examine emissions of ethylene oxide from the Edwards Lifesciences facility in Añasco, as used in EPA’s National Air Toxics Assessment. The purpose of the outreach is to discuss national efforts related to ethylene oxide, discuss steps to reduce emissions, and relay information on regulatory frameworks.

In light of the state of emergency recently declared by the Governor of Puerto Rico, growing concerns over COVID-19 in Puerto Rico and out of respect for people in the community of Añasco, EPA is postponing the meeting until later in the year.

EPA will coordinate closely with the Government of Puerto Rico and the Mayor of Añasco to set a new date and will inform the community as soon as a new date is set.
