Superfund Redevelopment Opportunities
As part of the Superfund Task Force Recommendations, issued July 25, 2017, EPA identified a list of sites with the greatest expected redevelopment and commercial potential. EPA developed this list to promote renewed focus on accelerating work and progress at all Superfund sites while working to successfully return Superfund sites to productive use in communities across the country. EPA used the lessons learned from this effort to expand support to even more sites. Sites with reuse opportunities can be found on the Superfund Redevelopment Opportunity Sites page below.
EPA encourages the use of sites at any point in the cleanup process where a property can be used safely. While EPA does not own the properties that make up sites, land owners, developers, and prospective purchasers want to understand EPA’s role at the property. EPA strives to provide information stakeholders need to make timely business decisions and to give support to overcome barriers to reuse.
