Consultation and Coordination in Indian Country

The EPA Policy on Consultation and Coordination with Indian Tribes establishes clear EPA standards for the consultation process. It is based on Executive Order 13175 (PDF) and the 1984 EPA Policy for the Administration of Environmental Programs on Indian Reservations. Coordination and communication with federally recognized tribes occurs through a broad network of EPA tribal program managers, EPA's National Tribal Caucus and a variety of tribal partnership groups.
