Summary

Project Background Information: Oxy USA, Incorporated has requested a Class I renewal permit for disposal of non-hazardous waste originating from its CO2 extraction operations in the Sheep Mountain CO2 Field in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of central southern Colorado. The renewal permit is for continued operation of the Garcia No. 1 well located in Huerfano County, Colorado and with injection perforations in the Dakota Formation.

Proposed Action: The EPA proposes issuance of a ten year renewal permit to authorize continued operation of an existing Class I non-hazardous waste disposal well located in Huerfano County, Colorado. Notification of any extension of the public comment period will appear at this web address. Alternatively, the public may contact Linda Bowling by email at Bowling.Linda@epa.gov, or by phone at 1-800-227-8917 extension 312-6254 or (303) 312-6254, to obtain information about these proposed actions or to be added to the notification list for any extension of the public comment period and any final EPA decision. Due to the current COVID -19 pandemic e-mail correspondence is preferred.
