UIC Class II Primacy for the State of Michigan

EPA is approving the State of Michigan’s Underground Injection Control Class II (UIC) Program for primacy. EPA reviewed the primacy application package, which met the regulatory criteria. EPA’s approval allows Michigan to implement and enforce its state regulations for UIC Class II injection wells located within the state, except in Indian County. This rule will be effective 90 days after date of publication in the Federal Register.  In the event that EPA receives adverse comment during the comment period, EPA will take the next appropriate steps.

Comments on this action will be accepted for 30 days after the notice publishes in the Federal Register.  To submit comments on this action, once published, visit the Federal Register visit https://www.regulations.gov.
