The Arizona-Sonora Regional Workgroup meets approximately twice a year and includes participation from local representatives from both sides of the border, as well as binational organizations such as the North American Development Bank, and the International Boundary and Water Commission; community organizations and civil society, academic institutions, tribes and the private sector. In addition, the regional workgroups include representatives of federal, state, local and tribal governments, among them representatives of organizations responsible for the environment, health, natural resources and emergency response. The public is always invited to participate.
