Gulf Task Force

The Gulf Task Force is one of three Task Forces that together comprise the TX-COAH-NL-TAMP (Four-State) Regional Workgroup under Border 2020. This Regional Workgroup includes the border regions of three Mexican states (Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas) and the adjoining border region of Texas.

The three Task Forces in the Workgroup are geographically defined; this arrangement was established at the beginning of 2006. The Gulf Task Force covers the adjacent areas of Texas and Tamaulipas that extend from Falcón Dam to the Gulf of Mexico: Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy, and Starr Counties in Texas, and the Municipios of Matamoros, Valle Hermoso, Reynosa, Miguel Alemán, Camargo, and Rio Bravo in Tamaulipas.
