Fact Sheet about Water Quality Surveillance and Response System

A Surveillance and Response System (SRS) provides a  framework for enhancing distribution system monitoring capabilities to detect water quality issues and respond before they become problems. SRSs consist of one or more of these components:
  • Online water quality monitoring
  • Physical security monitoring
  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure
  • Customer Compliant Surveillance
  • Public health surveillance
  • Sampling and analysis, and
  • Water Contamination Response (Consequent Management).
