A Surveillance and Response System (SRS) provides a framework for enhancing distribution system monitoring capabilities to detect water quality issues and respond before they become problems. SRSs consist of one or more of these components:
- Online water quality monitoring
- Physical security monitoring
- Advanced Metering Infrastructure
- Customer Compliant Surveillance
- Public health surveillance
- Sampling and analysis, and
- Water Contamination Response (Consequent Management).
