December 2020

  • December 1–17, 2020 | Online
    American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting
    This meeting is the among the largest international Earth and space science meetings worldwide. It includes a mix of events, field trips, and scientific sessions. Past meetings included sessions on extreme heat and vulnerability, and geospatial heat island mapping.

January 2021

  • January 1-15, 2021 | Online
    Second Symposium on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
    The symposium, held in conjunction with the American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting, will address diversity, equity, and inclusion. Topic areas include gender equity and climate change, vulnerable populations and extreme weather events, and communicating and translating weather and climate to other languages.

    12th Conference on Environment and Health
    This conference is featured as part of the American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting. Sessions will focus on how health is affected by the environment. Relevant sessions include Actionable Heat and Health Science for Improved Decision-Making, Understanding and Responding to the Growing Threat of Extreme Heat, and Understanding Heat Waves and Addressing the Risks to Human and Animal Health.

April 2021

    Climate Prediction Applications Science Workshop
    This NOAA Climate Services Branch workshop, hosted in conjunction with Arizona State University, will discuss developments in research and the application of weather and climate information for societal decision-making. Panelists will address heat island-related topics, including Prototyping a National Heat Service for a Weather Ready Nation, Building Resilient Neighborhoods to Prepare for Extreme Heat Events, Cascading Impacts of Temperature Extremes in the Urban Northeast, and Killer Heat in the United States.

May 2021

    National Planning Conference
    Organized by the American Planning Association, this conference is an annual event that brings together planners, planning commissioners, elected officials, and students. It will likely include sessions on green infrastructure and sustainable urban development.

July 2021

  • July 13-15, 2021 | Detroit, MI
    2021 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry
    This conference, hosted by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, will explore topics on smart energy management, manufacturing, and electrification. Selected panel sessions will cover energy, materials, and resource efficiency; and policies and programs for innovation.
