The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to grant a modification to an existing variance to Best Available Technology Economically Achievable effluent limits for ammonia because ArcelorMittal’s request satisfies the criteria in Clean Water Act § 301(g). Specifically, EPA finds that the modified effluent limits will not cause or contribute to exceedences of water quality standards.
