Applicability Determination Letters for 40 C.F.R. Part 63 Subpart M, National Perchloroethylene Air Emission Standards for Dry Cleaning Facilities

This pages contains two letters on the applicability of the National Perchloroethylene Air Emission Standards for Dry Cleaning Facilities (40 CFR 63, Subpart M).

The first letter, dated December 14, 2006, clarifies the applicability of the standards as they apply to a dry cleaning machine  installed at United States Surgical’s North Haven facility. The letter explains the applicability of the standards to a dry cleaning machine that was removed from the facility, and was re-installed in March of 2006.

The second letter, dated December 16, 2009, clarifies the applicability of the standards as they apply to the resale and relocation of dry cleaning equipment, and whether that constitutes as instillation for this standard.
