Air Technology Standards in Region 7

Air Technology Standard Contacts in Region 7

EPA has published a number of technology standards including:

  • Standards of Performance for New Stationary Source (NSPS) under 40 CFR Part 60
  • National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs) under 40 CFR Part 61, and
  • National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Source Categories (MACT) under 40 CFR Part 63

If you have questions about applicability of the standards, we encourage you to first explore the background information in the provided links. We also encourage you to discuss with your respective state or local air pollution control agency. If you are located outside the Region 7 geographic area (e.g Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska) please consult with the state or local agency or EPA Regional Office in your area. If you are a state or local agency located in Region 7 and need assistance with the interpretation of a standard, please contact us.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's "Decision Support System" provides a number of innovative tools to better help understand EPA's regulatory requirements. Particularly useful are the navigation flowcharts that help explain the many options provided by some rules. If the link advises to "Check Back", TCEQ is currently updating or creating the support materials. If blank, no tools are available.
