This Superfund program approach considers all environmental effects of remedy implementation and incorporates options to minimize the environmental footprint of cleanup actions. These projects reduce total energy use; tackle air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions; reduce water use and preserve water quality; conserve materials and reduce waste; and protect land and ecosystem services.
